  * Mac OS X 10.9 and later
  * Windows 7 and higher
  * A computer that supports Thunderbolt 2 technology or first generation Thunderbolt technology. To take advantage of the higher performance offered by Thunderbolt 2 technology, your computer must have a Thunderbolt 2 technology port (see [[5big-technology|]]).
